A Message from Crystal McNaughton Glenning

Fellow Bruins,

The time is coming to celebrate our 20 year Reunion.

I know it is unbelievable that the time has gone so fast.  As I am sure you have all discovered, sometimes life doesn’t go the way we thought it would 20 years ago.  I am hoping it is true for everyone that there have been some great successes, wonderful adventures and lots of good times along the way.  I am guessing it is also true that life has thrown a few curves.  Either way, we all come from a great place, Wilson High School, which created a strong foundation to take on whatever life has had to offer.

After 20 years, I am thinking this is worthy of a celebration, or actually two. You should have received your “official” invitation in the mail (along with a questionnaire for you to fill out and return) for our reunion.  If not, it is either coming today or you need to contact  www.creativereunions.com and give them your mailing info so they can send you one.  Also, check out our blog, set up by Deana (Gordon) Rodriguez, at www.wilsonclassof1988.blogspot.com.

Here is the general low down on the happenings for the weekend…

Friday August 22nd

Six – ish in the evening

McKennas on the Bay

(it is by the old Jolly Rogers)

Come say hello, meet, greet and be merry

McKennas has reserved a room for us.

We figure with a class of 1000 that we may need or want more time than one evening to catch up with everyone.

Saturday, August 23rd

Wilson '88 Reunion

The Hyatt Hotel

6:30 ‘til Midnight

~ Cocktails & Dinner ~

[No, not a sit-down-all-stuffy-event]

The Drummers are coming to do "Rock Out" just to get us into even more of a celebration mood.

Maybe a bear or two will show up, who knows...?

Plus a slide show, dancing, photo ops, shirts for sale, and other memorabilia.

No matter what, we are planning on FUN.

Come, enjoy, share a few laughs, a few stories,

talk to a few people you haven’t seen in a long time.

We hope you can set aside at least Saturday evening to join in the festivities.  We know life is busy.  There are kids' soccer games,  family events, distances to cover to get to the event, obstacles and hurdles to get past, or you are just thinking “Whatever. It’s been 20 years, who cares?  I talk to everyone I want to keep in touch with anyways.”

You may be surprised.  It is what you DON'T know you don't KNOW that will make this so fun.  Make it happen -- it will be worth it!

We look forward to seeing you there.  Please pass this along to anyone and everyone you still keep in contact with today.  We don’t want anyone to miss out.

Thank you!

Quick Blurb from Latest Committee Meeting

Last night the Committee held energetic discussions about reunion attendance, schedules, and ideas for the agenda. We plan to compile photos and videos from 1988 to create and show a DVD montage at the reunion. E-mail us at 1988@WilsonHighReunion.com if you have any great footage or pix you'd like us to include, and we can even turn your VHS copies into DVD format.

Wilson reunion shirts will be sold at the event, and some fun surprises are being arranged! Dinner details and musical entertainment have been inked. The next mailer to be sent out will be the official invitation. About two months before the reunion, you should also receive a biography questionnaire, which is something that you can contribute to -- and order -- even if you won't be able to make it to the actual reunion (if you do attend, the biography book is included in the cost of the ticket). More details to follow soon!

More Ways to Get Reunion Information

Hi All,

FIRST: If you want to receive a free Reunion Photo CD with your Reunion Tickets, you'll need to register for attendance by April 8, 2008 (this Tuesday!).

If you have not received your Registration form, contact Creative Reunions directly by phone at (310) 539-0111, or by e-mail at Createclas@aol.com.

SECOND: Do you or anyone you know, still have video or photos of 1988 games, rallies, events, etc.? One of our ideas is to combine videos and photos on a DVD that can be shared at the reunion. Have you stayed in touch with any of the teachers or faculty? If so, they may have archives of this kind of stuff. All items would be returned to original owners, of course.

THIRD: Thanks to the maintained website created by the Wilson Class of 1962, we now have an official reunion committee e-mail address: 1988@WilsonHighReunion.com. So now you can officially contact the reunion committee!

AND FINALLY: Here's another way to get reunion information: The Wilson Class of 1962 maintains a Wilson website for reunion information on all classes from 1940 to 2007. (They continue to stay online thanks to classmate donations.)

The website is http://www.wilsonhighreunion.com/ClassIndex.htm

In addition to basic reunion information, the website's Class of 1988 page includes the following links:

We at the Reunion Committee would love to hear from you to find out what YOU would like to see during our reunion in August. Add us to your address book: 1988@WilsonHighReunion.com.

Let's make this memorable for everyone!

Have you received the Reunion Info in the Mail Yet?

I just received the first Reunion mailer in the mail. Here are scanned copies of the details. They're probably tough to read here, but I'll see what I can do to make them more readable. What I do know is that the price before August 8 is $95/person (after August 8 is $105/person), and if you register before April 8, you'll get the Reunion Photo CD for free.
